Beehive: The 60’s Musical

Strong vocals are provided throughout the fast-paced show by Jackey Boelkow…

Total Theater

Boelkow perfectly captured the look and wistful optimism of Connie Francis (a favorite of my childhood) with "Where the Boys Are."

Their rich vocals combined in duets, trios and quartets, as well as soloists to deliver the musical goods.

An American Mythology

…Jackey Boelkow’s "Star-Reader”, a gorgeous folk anthem which concludes the album by rejecting all mythologies that categorize people through stories that “don’t speak my truth.” Rather than continually “telling myths and legends that we don’t believe,” Boelkow insists one must learn to “make your own destiny” and “make your own life.”

As smartly arranged by directors Adam Qutaishat and Nathan Fosbinder, An American Mythology traces a discernible dramatic arc that begins with genocide, slavery and extractive colonialism; moves through neocolonialism, assimilation and cooptation; and ends with a liberating freedom that’s as hard-won as anything in 1776 or Hamilton – all while covering an even broader and more inclusive canvas.

Unscathed by the microphones is Jackey Boelkow's Chris, who belts effortlessly into the high heavens and guides the plot back towards hell in an impressive show of vocal and acting chops.

Carrie

Jackey Boelkow’s fierce performance as head mean girl Chris is as sharp as it is cruel.

The Shephard Express

Another very strong character was Chris, as played by Jackey Boelkow. Mean, vengeful, entitled and easy to dislike.

The Marvelous Wonderettes

Barrett, Boelkow, Giddens and Novell all have great voices and have the right flavor for rock and roll, ballad or bubblegum pop tunes…

Wisconsin Theatre Spotlight

Jackey Boelkow rounds out the cast as Suzy. Boelkow is somewhat dizzying as an endearingly off-center personality who is dating the guy running the lights for the prom.

Julius Caesar

Jackey Boelkow also offered several beautiful songs as Casca, performing musical numbers that were as unexpected as they were powerful.
